Publication of the 2025 work programme postponed
Every year in December, ANSES finalises and then publishes its work programme. The 2025 programme will be published once the resources available to ANSES are known, and possibly after determining its scientific priorities.
This work programme, which sets out the main strategic lines of the 2023-2027 Goals and performance contract (PDF in French), structures the Agency's annual activities in its five main areas of intervention: food, animal health and welfare, environmental health, plant health and occupational health. It enables ANSES to pursue and develop its activities in support of public action.
How to adjust the programme without jeopardising health safety
ANSES's work programme is a provision included in the French Public Health Code. Its preparation is discussed with the Agency's international Scientific Board, and the document is approved by the Board of Administrators.
Because Parliament has not yet approved the 2025 finance bill, the year begins with no certainty as to whether the Agency's resources will be sufficient for the planned programme. As announced at December's board meeting, priorities will need to be set in line with the likely reduction in resources.
Any prioritisation of work for 2025 will be on a scientific basis, in consultation with the Agency's international Scientific Board.
Aiming for a holistic approach to all types of health
As an agency responsible for all types of health – human, animal, plant and environmental – ANSES ensures that its work programme highlights all the initiatives that support a holistic approach to health risks. The 2025 programme has also been designed to give greater visibility to the integration of climate change issues into the Agency's work.
As well as reinforcing the "One Health" approach, it aims to promote scientific excellence and the Agency's active involvement at European and international level, against a global backdrop of health crises and transformations in society and the environment.
