Private individuals: how to report an adverse health event

Reporting an adverse reaction linked to consumption of a food supplement, fortified food or novel food   Your pet or other animal in your care displays an unusual reaction or symptom following administration of a veterinary medication

Contact your veterinarian or doctor, who will report this adverse reaction to ANSES via the veterinary pharmacovigilance scheme.  If this is not possible, you can also report the adverse reaction directly online.

If you have not seen a veterinarian and do not intend to do so, you may file the on-line report yourself.

You are experiencing a reaction after having administered a veterinary medication to an animal, or you mistakenly took a veterinary medication yourself

Contact your doctor, who will report the adverse reaction via the French Ministry of Health’s Adverse event reporting portal (in French). If this is not possible, you can also report the adverse reaction yourself directly on-line on the Adverse event reporting portal (in French).

Take action immediately - do not wait for poisoning symptoms appear. Call the Poison control centre (preferably your regional centre) (in French). If you do not seek medical advice, you can still report the adverse event via the Ministry of Health’s Adverse event reporting portal (in French). If the situation is life-threatening, call an ambulance immediately (dial 15). For all other medical conditions, see your doctor or contact a Poison control centre (in French).
